STEEL FOR CUTTING THE SIZES OF AN ONION PLANTATION
DESCRIPTION OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a machine or system for cutting the stems of an onion plantation, also usable in other similar vegetables, before harvesting.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention falls within the technical field of agricultural machinery.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the cultivation of onions and other bulbous plants, stem trimming is frequent before harvesting.
Currently, this trimming can be done manually with pruning shears or with a sickle, which is very expensive by the staff needed to remove the onions' tails and clean everything.
There is another mechanized system, where a machine with propellers that rotate at high speed aspires to the stem and cut it; but this system has many disadvantages, since with the tender onions juice is made and the earth and dust sticks, leaving the onions stained and painted with green spots. Another drawback due to the aspiration of the turbines or blades is that they vacuum dirt or small stones causing a shot in the onions being marked. Another drawback is that the cut is not perfect and the tails of the cut stems are riveted or frayed. It also takes onions leaves, deteriorating the quality of the onion and its subsequent use.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The implement of the invention has a configuration that solves the described drawbacks

for cutting the stalks of onions or similar vegetables.
According to the invention, the implement comprises a chassis in which at least two rotational combs with a substantially horizontal axis are mounted: an anterior comb equipped with a rotation which in its lower part is contrary to the direction of advance of the implement, and a rear comb equipped with a turn that coincides with the direction of the progress of the implement; being mounted on the chassis, at least, a substantially horizontal mowing bar, preferably of alternative cut, which is then arranged after the rear comb roller for cutting the stems.
With this configuration the previous comber lifts any stalk that may be lying in the opposite direction to the advance of the implement and pre-positions all the stems to be processed by the posterior comber, which keeps them elevated and with adequate tension and orientation to be cut by the bar. harvest. The cut asl achieved by the mowing bar is a clean cut and similar to that of scissors, leaving the stem in optimal conditions.

DESCRIPTION OF A PRACTICAL EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
The implement (1) for cutting the stems (2) of a plantation (3) of onions of the invention comprises a chassis (4) in which at least two rotating combs (5, 6) of substantially horizontal axis: an anterior comb (5) provided with a turn which in its lower part is contrary to the direction of advance (40) of the implement (1), and a posterior comb (6) provided with a turn which in its lower part coincides with the sense of progress (40) of the implement (1); being also mounted on the chassis (4), at least, a mowing bar (7) substantially horizontal which is arranged next to the rear comb roller (6) for trimming the stems (2) (see figs. 3 and 4) .
With this configuration the previous comber (5) lifts any stem (2) that may be lying in the opposite direction to the advance (40) of the implement (1) and pre-positions all the stems (2) to be processed by the posterior comber (6) , which keeps them elevated and with adequate tension and orientation to be cut by the mowing bar (7), as seen in Figure 4.
In this example of the invention, the chassis (4) comprises coupling means (30) to a tractor vehicle, not shown, although the protection of the invention also encompasses an implement that incorporates propulsion means for autonomous operation.
The combers (5, 6) are mounted on the chassis (4) through first height adjustment means to adapt to the terrain. In this example of the invention said first height adjustment means comprise two extensible lateral uprights (8), which comprise first pistons (9) or other mechanical means for their extension and withdrawal. These first pistons (9) - or other mechanical means - are ideally double-acting to be able to act in elevation and descent, while the extensible lateral uprights (8) comprise a telescopic vertical section (10) that is extended in two previous sections (11) and later (12), in which the front comb (5) and the rear comb (6) are respectively mounted.
For their part, the combers (5, 6) comprise radial blades (14) along their entire length (see figs. 2 and 3); each one of them comprising combs that will act against the stems (2) for their elevation, pre-positioning and orientation towards the mowing bar (7). The combs comprise fingers (15) or barbs ideally materialized in rubber for better adhesion with the stems (2). Specifically, in this example the previous comb (5) comprises three blades
radial (14) angularly equidistant with its rubber finger combs (15) and comb

posterior (6) comprises six radial blades (14) or more, angularly equidistant with their rubber finger combs (15), as seen in Figures 3 and 4.
The mowing bar (7) is also mounted on the chassis (4) through means of adaptation to the ground and to the desired length for cutting the stems (2). In this example, said means for adapting to the ground comprise deformable parallelograms (16), related to dampers (17) and that support and lift a support (18) of the mowing bar (7). These dampers (17) stop and exert a force to compensate for the weight of said mechanisms, and are arranged horizontally also seeking a damping in case of finding the mowing bar (7) obstacles in the ground.
The invention has provided the additional arrangement of a bucket (19) which is mounted next to the mowing bar (7), for the collection of cut stems (2a) as seen in Figures 4 and 5. Said bucket (19) is mounted on the support (18) of the mowing bar (7), and inside it there is a worm (20) of horizontal axis and two opposite directions, conductor of the cut stems (2a) accumulated towards two lateral outlets (19a) (see fig. 5) of said bucket (19), coinciding with the traces of the tractor, so that the cut stems (2a) will be hauled laterally to both sides in said traces.
The invention has also provided the additional arrangement of sensors for automatic height adjustment of the combers (5, 6), the mowing bar (7) and / or the entire chassis (4). Said sensors may comprise ultrasonic sensors (21), as seen in Figures 3 and 4, or they may comprise a rod with a sliding pin on the ground, not shown.
For general height adjustment of the chassis (4), the provision of rear wheels (22) with second pistons (23) dampers governed by the sensor system described above by means of hydraulic solenoid valves is provided. These second pistons (23), in addition to achieving adequate elevation, dampen the irregularities of the ground.
Finally, the arrangement in the chassis (4) of a hydraulic power plant (24) with coupling (25) to the power take-off of the tractor vehicle for driving the units is provided.

hydraulic drive, such as hydraulic motors (26), comber drive (5, 6)
Describing sufficiently the nature of the invention, as well as the manner in which it is carried out in practice, it should be noted that the provisions indicated above and represented in the attached drawings are subject to modifications in detail as long as they do not alter the fundamental principle.
